DNS lookup issue on VMware View Android

Hello,

Please forgive me if this is a Long post, but I want to provide as much information as I can. I've stumbled onto a bit of a confusing issue with our current deployment of VMware View. I am Running View Enterprise 6.0 (latest version) and testing our Android Tables using the View Client Version 3 (latest available on play store).

My view server is both internally and externally named view.domain.com, and we have successfully tested the view connection from both inside and outside the office using PCoIP.

When testing our tablets internally, I am able to connect to the view.domain.com server and enter my AD credentials to see the VM's in my pool. When I tap on my pc to connect to it, i get a loading window that pops up and counts from 0 to 100/100 before giving me a window asking me if I want to abort the connection or continue waiting. If I select abort, I get taken back to the page that shows the VM's in my pool. If i select continue, I get a window that says "Please keep waiting" before returning the error "lost connection to server".

This behavior is consistent with the 4 tablets I have been testing with. I enabled the logging function from the client and ran through a connection attempt, and what it returned is the interesting part:

Line 6870: 07-17 12:12:41.023 D/tera_event( 3433): 0 0 CLIENT:Session Addr found as 'EXTERNAL_IP'
    Line 6877: 07-17 12:12:41.023 D/tera_event( 3433):51 2 0 Connecting with host (EXTERNAL_IP, 00-00-00-00-00-00)
    Line 6879: 07-17 12:12:41.023 D/tera_event( 3433):88 2 0 Initiating session with: (EXTERNAL_IP)
    Line 6893: 07-17 12:13:41.046 D/tera_event( 3433):88 2 0 Session timeout (EXTERNAL_IP)!
    Line 6894: 07-17 12:13:44.210 D/tera_event( 3433): 1  -500 SCNET:(scnet_client_open_ssl): tera_sock_connect failed to connect to EXTERNAL_IP:4172!

From the log files, it looks like the tablets are attempting to connect to the view session via the EXTERNAL_IP that i have opened for the external connections to the view server. I installed a ping application and when pinging the view server internally, the ping command returned the correct internal IP of the server.

We do not have any issues connecting to the same VM Pool from any of the windows desktop machines we have here, and I have a VM offsite that I use for testing the connection, and everything is working as expected. My next step is to take the tablets offsite to see if they work (i am guessing they will), but I am scratching my head as to why the tablets are attempting to connect to the view server via the external IP. Anyone have a thought?
