After running the VMware OS Optimization Tool we see that the dark borders around windows are missing. To explain what i mean, here is a picture of 2 Explorer windows on top of each other.
I have tried to disable a lot of options within the tool, but i can't realy figure out what item is causing this. Does anyone have a clue?

I'm sure someone has had to do this before and could tell me the caveats when migrating a Horizon VDI environment to new VMs. This will include a SQL Server, View Composer, View Connection, and vCenter (not VCSA). I have read a few and one that I'm thinking about implementing goes in this order: SQL Databases, View Composer, View Connection (in replica mode to existing server), then vCenter.
All hardware will be the same. At some point I'll need to disconnect from the existing vCenter and connect the hosts to the new vCenter server and that is essentially my question is when is the best point to make that switch? If the order mentioned is best then it's obviously at the end but is this truly the best order?
I'm no expert and would appreciate any guidance from someone who has successfully done this.
I am not able to connect to desktop using Linux client. I've tried 4.9, 4.10, 5.0 versions installed from available bundles following previous uninstallation.
Fresh Fedora installation does not help.
Connection from Android tablet works fine - version 4.10.
Did anyone face this issue and knows how to solve it?

We are using vmware thin clients, horizon client 4.10.0, agent 7.7.0. Some of our users that can't see well and want a higher dpi. The only way we have found to accomplish this is to disable dpi synchronization and set their dpi on login through a windows gpo.
However, disabling dpi synchronization is problematic because some other users work both on thin client and remotely. When dpi synchroniztaion is disabled their client dpi setting is ignored and their remote dpi is always 100% regardless of client settings.
Display scaling does not fix this, as it only decreases resolution instead of increasing dpi. We have not found a way to match remote dpi to client dpi without dpi synchronization.
Is there any way to either:
*change remote dpi at all when dpi synchronization is enabled, or
*set remote dpi equal to client dpi when dpi synchronization is disabled.

1, I upgraded my vCenter from VC 6.0 to VCSA 6.5
2, IP address from 6.0 has changed to DNS hostname.

We have been getting errors when we migrate user profiles for v2 profiles to v6 profiles. Do you have to be a Domain Admin in order for this to work. It says successful but the log file looks like the one on .V2 to .v5 (VDI View profile migration) . I wanted to have clarification from vmware as it is not in any documentation.

Currently the environment we have is 6.0.1 build-2088845, apparently we like to walk into hornet nest. However I'm trying to find a way to alert us when we have problem vms or hosts in this environment and coming up short. We have an old version of Solarwinds (SAM) but again need to know what individuals use today to alert them and to stay proactive please.
I have Horizon 7.5.0 build-8583568 and I'm unable to pass any usb devices into the guest os. I'm trying to enable the debug logging to usb redirection but i can't seem to get the log file to exist.
we are running horizon 7.0.1 and have a requirement for virtual printing on a physical PC but don't get the option for virtual printer in view agent 7.4 and below.
I have been told that agent version 7.6 and above offers this which it does but now i am having issues connecting over a session.
Is agent 7.6 supported with horizon 7.0.1?
How do I replace citrix with horizon? I am already running horizon view but not all users are on horizon view. what is horizon apps?
does that leverage MS terminal server and does the user have to be on horizon view before they can launch apps?
We are running Horizon 7.4 with Linked clones and all desktops have a persistent disk attached. I am in need on one of those persistent disks and can't seem to get it. When i try to view it thru the web client it just spins and spins then come back with a error that it waited too long (120 seconds). I can go thru the CLI and see the file just fine but can not see them thru the gui. Tried the regular web client and the HTML5 client with no luck. I also tried to Import the persistent disk thru the view admin console and i can see every file but the one i need. Any one have a clue what might be going on? Sure would be nice to have that users disk back with info on it. any help is appreciated. Thanks
Hi,
Chrome is working perfectly on the master image. Once a VM is cloned from the master image by Horizon 7. Chrome no longer works and freezes the whole VM upon launch.
I have disabled GPU acceleration but still having the same problem.
As a test i added the master image to the domain and logged in with a user account and Chrome still works perfectly.
If you have any suggestions please let me know.

hi, i'd encountered an issue with Microsoft office programs & other programs like autodesk crashes when trying to switch to login vdi zero client in different client.
eg: log off client A then logon client B. after log off client B & login back to Client A and this can lead a crashed.

We are running View 7.8 and our annual license renewal is coming up soon. We currently use Composer for all of our non-persistent linked clones pools, we have no persistent desktops. We are thinking about moving to instant clones. This means moving from Horizon standard edition licensing to enterprise edition. In your experience is spending the extra money on enterprise licensing to get instant clones worth it?
I am wondering what happens to some of the Linux Directories on a Linux Instant clone Machine when it gets deleted? Meaning where does a linux directory like /var/log getting written to when a users logs out of the virtual machine and it gets deleted?
Intermittent issues when installing VMware Horizon Agent on VM's. Some of the VM's install fine but some fail with Error 1920. Service VMware Blast (VMBlast) failed to start.

starting having issue after updates were installed last weekend. lots of machines in the pools failing customization over and over again. We disabled auto recovery to get a look at some of these and they all are missing ip addresses.
using wireshark i see no traffic from these doing release/renew until I disable and enable the nic in them. Then they start working fine.
Any ideas why the network adapters would be hung?
