I have users using Horizon View 7 That are on MAC. For some reason they cannot see multiple monitors when they login via their client. I have 3D disabled and the pool has 4 monitors assigned. This is only a problem for MAC's. Any suggestions?

Horizon view 7 - usb redirection transfer rates
Hi,
I am testing USB speed and max transfer rates I get is about 2MB/s (16Mbps). This is inside LAN, 100Mbps ethernet. I have monitored the network bandwidth consumed and there is still plenty of it left.So what is the limmiting factor ?
I expected at lest 5MB/s in LAN for transfer rate over USB redirection. What are your experiance with this ?
My setup:
ESXi 6u2
View 7.0.2
Guest OS Windows 7sp1 64bit, 2vCPU, 4GB ram
client Windows 10 with latest Horizon View client installed

Windows 10 1607 and Persona Management
Hi
We have been testing out the new anniversary update on Windows 10. For the most part it works good, except that roaming profiles does not work properly. After some testing it seems that Persona Management does not support the new V6 profiles in 1607. Does anyone have any other experience, or do someone have an eta on a new version form VMware?

Horizon View w/ CPA and Tagging
We are a 6.2 View environment looking to utilize tags to control internal/access to our VDI pools. We used to do this in our 5.2 environment just fine. We have moved to 6.2 with a Cloud Pod Architecture, and unfortunately, it slipped by us that tagging does not work when using CPA. This is the documentation for 7, but, 6.2 is the same:
"The restricted entitlements feature, which uses tag matching to determine whether a user can access a particular pool, does not work in a Cloud Pod Architecture implementation. The Cloud Pod Architecture feature does not recognize tags when allocating desktops and applications from global entitlements."
So my reason for posting here is for any ideas for ways around this/reasonable workarounds. Our next step is to create 2 unique pools in each of our data centers, outside the CPA, and entitle users accordingly. This has drawbacks obviously, but, would allow us to get back to controlling internal/external access.
Would love to hear better ideas. Thanks in advance.

Horizon view alternative for Receiver Desktop Lock ?

is there anything similar available for Horizon View Client ?
New Receiver Desktop Lock 4.2 adds versatility | Citrix Blogs
What this tool does is that it locks Windows desktop from where the receiver is started so the users are not able to use local computer.
As far as I know the only alternative for View is that you change shell but this is not practical.

Access Point architecture
Hi,
using access points for external access, is it needed to dedicate connections servers for internal users or can we use the same ones ? We are using just password, not other kind of authentication is needed.
What could be the reason to dedicate connections server for internal or external users ? I have seen that design in some places.

View 7.0.2 - scanner redirection doesn't work for TWAIN
Hi,
I have problems with TWAIN scanner redirection. Scanner works on local machine, but not inside VDI.
As you can see on the screenshot the scanner is detected and selected in "scanner redirection for vmware horizon" but it is not visible under either "Devices and printers" or "Device Manager". Also if I try to scan in various applications all reports that they can not find scanner.
If select the same scanner under WIA scanner redirection, then scanning will work, but the applications see scaner as "vmware virtual wia scanner".
So here are my questions:
1) why is single scanner shown under both scanner redirection options ?
2) How to tshoot scanner redirection, especially TWAIN part. (It works on local machine)
3) How should I see scanner in VDI if it would work properly with twain scanner redirection ? Would it be shown under "Devices and printers" or inside device manager ?
4) Currently there is only "VMware virtual WIA scanner" under device manager. Should be there also "VMware virtual TWAIN scanner" ? And that this is the source of my problems ?

View Agent 'stopping'
On Windows 10 x64 1607 build with View Agent 7.0.2 I recently started getting 'agent disabled' errors when trying to connect to my (persistent) VDI.
After a restart of the View Agent Service (service keeps running!!) I can connect again. It's very annoying because when I change my worklocation I can not login without first having someone restart my View Agent.
After a reboot of the entire machine I can logon, but only right after reboot. When I wait a while (for example I reboot and go on my lunchbreak) I get the 'agent disabled' error.
I looked in the pcoip server and agent logs but I cannot find anything related to this..
Any ideas?

This may have been asked before but does anyone know how to get the mouse pointer changes to pass over from a windows 7 desktop to the chrome book? when i use excel my mouse pointer never changes when i hover between cells.

VIEW 5 to VIEW 6 migration on new cluster
Hi experts,
i need to have a view5 and a view6 server both running during a migration time of about one week.
If i upgrade my license key to version 6, will my version 5 server stop running, or does it not check the license once activated?
The total number of connections will never be higher than the purchased license count.

How to debug very high CPU usage during BLAST [Extreme] session?
Hi all,
I have abnormally high CPU usage for what I assume is the process responsible for H.264 screen encoding -- `VMBlastW.exe`. I am connected on a LAN with the Horizon Client. I have to admit that we have several VMs beside the one I am having trouble with, and I recall we've had a number of well behaving installations where the protocol process on a VM did not account for more than 5% CPU usage in similar scenarios. So this is an anomaly, but I am not sure where to approach it. The scenario is Windows Media Player playing a [720p] movie (Big Buck Bunny 720p, AVI) which occupies 1/3 of the screen area. The Windows Media Player itself does not use more than 20% of the virtual CPU, so I don't think that the codec etc really matter here. What seems to matter is the amount of screen area being updated, affecting the H.264 encoding of the screen framebuffer.
The VM is set up with a vGPU that is backed by Nvidia GRID K1 card, profile K120Q (the bottom baseline). The CPU profile of the VM is a 2-socket setup, each CPU with 1 core. 4GB of RAM. Anyway, I think that 20% CPU for movie decoding sort of gives away the approximate computing power of the VM, give or take. That the aforementioned VMBlastW.exe process using never less than 40% of the CPU just for encoding and sending the screen over LAN, to me seems very abnormal, not the less because it is supposed to offload the H.264 encoding to the NVidia vGPU. When playing the movie full screen, Windows Media Player still tops at less than 25% CPU, while the VMBlastW.exe process averages at 80%!
The image and motion quality themselves are very adequate, therefore I judge packet loss can't be that high.
The ESX host running the VM is a Dell PowerEdge R730 rack server with an Intel Xeon E5-2667 v3 3.2Ghz with 256GB RAM. vSphere tells me that only 2,33Ghz out of the "virtual total" of 51,18Ghz on the virtualized host CPU is used. RAM is about half free. I mean, I don't see the host load at all. Yet, the Blast process maxes out the virtual CPU on the VM.
I have logs to show if required, I have confirmed that H.264 is used (as opposed to JPG/PNG which BLAST also can do) and the transport is TCP, not UDP, but I don't think this figures into the problem.
What can I do to get to the bottom of this? Maybe the system falls back on something, but I need to know what and somehow try to control it.

MAC Disable Auto Connecting to VDI
I would like to change my protocol from PcoIP to RDP, but every time after I login server, it will auto connect to desktop so I can't change the setting. I am using Mac, any idea I could pause it before auto connecting?

Instant Clone - vCenter Server list empty
Hi,
After upgrading from View6 to View7, when I try to create a new Instant Clone pool, the list of vCenter server is empty (it is not the case for the other types of pool like "View Composer linked clones").
I've selected "Automated desktop pool" and Floating in the previous screens and the "Instant Clones domain account" fields are filled with an AD credentials with the right permissions.
Any idea?

microsoft profile roaming make the flash redirection not work
hi there,
I'm looking for some experts to get help about this weird problem.
I have Horizon 7.0.2 equipped in my environment, and Microsoft profile roaming function enabled at the same time. while it's weird that whenever the Microsoft roaming is enabled, the flash redirection becomes not working in VDI. And upon disabled, the flash redirection works well.
so i can't figure out what's the deal? Can anybody help me out?

Apps from application pools - automatically create shortcuts on the desktop
Is there a way to push application shortcuts on the client desktop upon first login ?
To cklick on every application avaliable and select create shortcut on desktop is cumbersome for users. I know that I can manually crate icons trough GPO but this is less than ideal.

Horizon client on windows - handling lock/logout/... events
Currently we have thin clients which are domain joined and when the user log in it is then automatically logged into virtual desktop.
Is it possible to configure Horizon client in a way that when you do logout from VDI that you are also logged out from TC ? And similar if user locks VDI trough start menu that the client also locks ?
What is otherwise the best option to configure Windows thin clients to work seamlessly with horizon and without any local desktop ? Especially when users are using ctr-alt-del key combination or doing lock/logoff. Zero clients are really nice here and give you the best local desktop experience, but they lack on other areas.

Horizon client 4.2 - folder sharing
Is it possible to configure it to only share removable media and nothing elese ? It it possible trough GUI if you remove first option "share your local files", but I need to enforce it to all users. As per documentation there are some registry settings to enable share for certain folders, but nothing equialent to the "allow access to removable storage".

Application empty session timeout is not working
Hi everybody,
I experience some issues with disconnected application . My env.
One connection server 2 RDS Farms, one is RDS session and second streamed the IE. When users from RDS session close the streamed IE the session in RDS IE farm remain disconnected for days. When user open again IE find his last page opened. In IE farm configuration I have used :
- Display protocol PCOIP
- Empty session timeout 1 Minute
- When times occurs Log Off
- Log Off disconnected sessions 1 Minute
Facts:
- When user minimize IE, the session looks connected
- When user doesn't have any activity in RDS session including also no activity in IE, same, user connected
- When user close the IE the session appears disconnected and stay like that forever.
GPO for RDSH are not applied on RDS IE farm, we don't used RDP protocol
Any suggestions?

Streamed IE issues with new tab
Hi all,
I have a small issue, I have a streamed IE from a RDS farm with 2012r2 up to date and SEP (Symantec endpoint protection). We use also view 7.01 connection server and view agent. My issue is when we open a link in a new tab. IE is freeze for one minute until the next tab is opened in a new window. Of course if a have a full desktop session on IE farm no problems, only when is streamed. I couldn't find any errors in view or windows.
Any suggestions?
