Is anyone aware of any vMotion restrictions when it comes to running VDI desktops in Horizon View 6?
There is a standing theory at my job that if you vMotion all VDI guests (and any replicas) off a host to put a host into maintenance mode for patching that you have to put all the VDI guests back to that host to keep Horizon View "happy" especially when it comes time to recompose.
I can't seem to find confirmation of this theory in VMware's documentation.To me it would seem silly if you had to put guests back.
We have had issues when recomposing but I do not think it is related to vMotioning the guests and leaving on "different" hosts. I'm seeking confirmation that vMotion is not the cause.
Right now we manually migrate VDI guests back to the host manually after patching a host. Its cumbersome and honestly I don't think it needs to happen. Looking for some feedback.
